Theme park goers were stuck for an hour on monorail trains at Alton Towers after they broke down.
In the latest controversy to hit the Staffordshire based theme park, eighty people were trapped on the trains on the hottest day of the year so far.
The trains were removed from service after the breakdown at about 5.30pm yesterday and Alton Towers issued an apology.
In a separate incident yesterday, thrill-seekers were left dangling for more than 20 minutes on the theme park's Air rollercoaster after a technical glitch.
Sarah Chapman shared a picture of the incident on Twitter yesterday.
She wrote: "Second ride to close today and loads of people stranded on Air #epicfail #altontowers."
A spokeswoman for the theme park described the problem on the Air ride as a "minor technical stoppage".
She said the monorail breakdown was caused by "a technical issue on one of the vehicles".
In a statement, she said: "Alton Towers puts the health and safety of its guests at the forefront of everything it does, which means that from time to time rides will be closed to allow for technical issues to be reviewed.
"We do understand that this can be inconvenient for our guests and we keep them as informed as we are able to throughout any delays, but we will not operate a ride if there is any suggestion of a safety compromise.
"However we do apologise to our guests for any delays and discomfort these may cause."
The incidents came one month after 16 people were injured on the park's Smiler rollercoaster.
Leah Washington, 17, and Vicky Balch, 20, both had to have their legs amputated after suffering horrific injuries.
