The body of a young woman has been found in woodland near her home two days after she went missing.

Amy Springer, 20, vanished from her home in Hove on Friday night, sparking a major search.

Police found her body in woodlands near Portslade Cricket Club in Benfield Valley, Portslade, Sussex, on Sunday morning.

Although formal identification police said the body is believed to be Amy. They added that her next of kin have been informed.

There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner’s officer is continuing enquiries.

Ms Springer’s aunt Sue Roberts said on Facebook: “R. I. P my beautiful girl. Heartbroken.”

Police had previously made an urgent appeal for help to find Amy on Friday night.

They said the 5ft 4in tall young woman has pink hair and was last seen wearing a dark-coloured North Face jacket, dark joggers and slip-on shoes.

The force had warned she was “vulnerable” and her disappearance was “out of character”.
