Rip off: Customers described lottery bosses as greedy

Frustrated lottery players have criticised EuroMillions bosses as the game becomes harder to win and more expensive.

The cost of playing the European lottery will increase from £2 to £2.50and players will now have to choose “lucky star” numbers out of 12 rather than 11.

Camelot, the company running the lottery, has claimed the changes are part of making the game “bigger and better” to play, with more chance of winning.

Lottery bosses have been labelled “greedy” by customers, many of whom are pointing out that it will mean less people will play.

One wrote: “I will no longer play the euromillions when it goes up to £2.50, a total rip off.”

Camelot consumer and retail director, Sally Cowdry, said the changes will “re-energise the game”, adding: “These fantastic enhancements will do just that, helping us to deliver even more for our players and UK Good Causes in the years to come.”

The way the game is played will not change, New tickets go on sale on September 24.
