Appeal date for convicted brothers

12 April 2012

Two brothers who were jailed for a brutal double murder have been granted an appeal against their conviction.

Robert and Lee Firkins were sentenced to life after they were found guilty of shooting Carol and Graham Fisher before bludgeoning them with a sledgehammer.

They were found guilty on January 19 last year after a 13-week trial at Exeter Crown Court, Devon, where the jury deliberated for 23 hours before reaching a unanimous verdict.

Mr Fisher, 60, and his 53-year-old wife owned Perch Garage near Wadebridge, North Cornwall.

The were killed on Bonfire Night, 2003 in their bungalow next to the garage.

The hearing for the brothers, Robert, 34, and Lee, 32, from Exford Close, Western-Super-Mare, Somerset, will be heard in London on March 30.
