Asda has recalled a number of pizzas and breads from its gluten-free range after it was discovered they may contain the protein composite.
The supermarket chain said the mishap had been caused by a production site using the wrong type of flour.
Affected products include garlic & coriander naan breads and white pitta bread.
A statement has been issued warning the products could pose a health risk to anyone who is allergic or is intolerant to gluten.
Customers who have bought the products are asked to return them to their nearest store to receive a full refund. They would not need their receipt.
A spokeswoman said: "We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused and will ensure this doesn't happen again."
Products affected include:
- Asda Free From 2 Pizza Bases with best before code of either 26.02.2015 or 30.06.2015
- Asda Free From Garlic & Coriander Naan Breads with best before code of either 03.07.2015, 07.07.2015 or 09.07.2015
- Asda Free From 4 White Pitta Bread with best before code of either 26.06.2015, 30.06.2015 or 02.07.2015.
