The body of a 14-year-old boy has been pulled out of the sea in north Wales following a week-long manhunt for two teenagers.
Yahye Omar Mohamed disappeared after going swimming in the sea off Barmouth last Saturday.
Police and the coastguard discovered the body in the water at Sunny Sands beach yesterday morning and today confirmed it was the missing teen.
Yahye’s Waseem Al-Muflehi, 15, is still missing.
Both boys are reportedly from Birmingham and believed to have been on a trip with the city's Yemeni Community Association when they disappeared.
Inspector Andy McGregor, from North Wales Police, said: “Yesterday evening Yahye was identified by family members and our thoughts are very much with them at this time.
“They are being supported by specialist Family Liaison Officers and we hope you can respect the family’s privacy at this very difficult time”
The death is not being treated as suspicious and HM Coroner for North West Wales Mr Dewi Pritchard-Jones has been notified.
