'Bomb siege' stand-off ends safely

A tense stand-off with a man claiming to have a bomb in a lawyer's office in Sydney has ended safely.

Australian police said they took the 52-year-old man into custody about 12 hours after the incident began.

The man's 12-year-old daughter had been with him in the office, and police said she was released unharmed.

The man had told police he had a bomb in his backpack. Officers did not say whether an explosive device was found.
