Boy, 16, quizzed over Amar murder

12 April 2012

A 16-year-old boy is being questioned on suspicion of murdering teenager Amar Aslam.

West Yorkshire Police said the boy was arrested on Friday in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Amar, who was found dead in Crow Nest Park, in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, on May 25.

A 20-year-old man and three boys, aged 15, were remanded in custody earlier this week when they appeared in court charged with Amar's murder.

Amin Hussain Ali, from Dewsbury, and the three boys, who cannot be named, appeared at Dewsbury Magistrates' Court on Thursday accused of murdering Amar and robbing him of £10, a silver chain and a mobile phone.

All four were remanded to appear before Leeds Crown Court on June 5.

Three other youths also arrested earlier this week have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
