Britain stands a chance of boasting a Wimbledon singles winner as rising star Liam Broady competes in the boys' final - with Maria Sharapova aiming to win her second ladies' title.

With Andy Murray crashing out of SW19 the nation's focus turns to Broady, 17, who could become Britain's first homegrown junior winner since 1962 when football legend Sir Stanley Matthews' son, also called Stanley, lifted the trophy.

Broady, of Stockport, Greater Manchester, is an emerging talent who has played some captivating tennis to make it to the final.

He faces Australian Luke Saville on Court One.

On Centre Court a winner's prize of £1,000,000 is at stake as triple grand slam winner Sharapova plays eighth seed Petra Kvitova in the ladies' final starting at 2pm - an hour after Broady's match begins.

Sharapova, 24, known as the "Queen of Screams" because of her loud grunting won the grass court championship as a 17-year-old.
