A café chain has apologised after a disappointed holidaymaker shared a photo of their "appalling" airport breakfast online.
Friska pledged to investigate after the hungry punter posted a picture of three poached eggs and two pale slices of toast strewn across a cardboard container on internet thread Reddit.
They wrote: "I was hoping a little more effort would have gone into my £5.70 eggs on toast breakfast from Friska at Luton Airport."
The sad-looking image prompted hundreds of sympathetic comments online.
One user described the measly meal as "eggs in the general vicinity of toast."
Another wrote: "Seriously that is appalling and I hope you complained."
One person said: "I'm not sure I'd even call that toast. Did they just wave it at the toaster?"
The photo has also raised the issue of the price of items at airports.
David wrote: "The only thing you should buy at an airport is bottled water everything else is a rip-off. Actually makes my blood boil when whoever I’m with wants an organic salad for £9.40."
"It’s airport food, it’s always overpriced garbage,"another user said.
Friska wrote on Twitter: "We've looked through this thread and we'll be picking this up with the Luton team directly as it's a LONG way below our usual standards. If we're able to reach the customer the post belongs to then we'd really like to apologise directly. Thanks for flagging."
