Cole attends Campbell wedding alone

Ashley Cole attended Sol Campbell's wedding without Cheryl after their divorce
12 April 2012

Ashley Cole turned up alone to ex-England defender Sol Campbell's country wedding.

Wearing an open-necked white shirt and smart trousers, the Chelsea left back laughed and grinned as he sauntered into the grounds of St Andrew's Church in Corbridge, Northumberland, before the ceremony.

Accompanied by his Three Lions teammate Rio Ferdinand and Ferdinand's partner Rebecca Ellison, Cole appeared relaxed and happy as he greeted guests at the 8th century church, which was decorated with white flowers for the occasion.

The 29-year-old has been single since he split from wife Cheryl Cole in February following allegations of infidelity.

Campbell was cheered by crowds which blocked traffic in the village market place as he kissed new bride Fiona Barratt, granddaughter of building tycoon Sir Lawrie Barratt.

The newlyweds were showered with confetti as they strode to a waiting Rolls-Royce limousine, on a blustery North East day illuminated by bright sunshine.

Celebrity guests including TV chef Ainsley Harriott and former Manchester United striker Andrew Cole were among the guests - but there was no sign of David and Victoria Beckham at the hour-long ceremony.

The grounds to the church were closed during the wedding.

The former Arsenal defender, 35, has been with property developer and interior designer Fiona, 29, for four years.
