Comic Relief has raised a record-breaking sum for a Red Nose Day night of more than £40m.
The mammoth seven-hour show raised a final total of £40.2m thanks to a host of performances from British comedy's finest.
Highlights from the television spectacle on BBC1 included Dawn French in the last ever Vicar of Dibley special, and performances from Peter Kay, Little Britain and Mitchell and Webb.
Ricky Gervais left audiences laughing during an appearance with a chicken nugget munching Jamie Oliver, former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan was fired again - this time by Sir Alan Sugar in a celebrity version of the Apprentice, and the Prime Minister starred opposite Catherine Tate.
Tony Blair got the upper hand over the comic playing teenage tearaway Lauren by uttering her catchphrase "Am I bovvered?" to her dismay.
Khazakstan's television favourite Borat made a guest appearance, telling host Graham Norton: "Graham's I like you, we like very much the Jade Goody joke about the poppadom."
And in the third series of Comic Relief Fame Academy, It-girl Tara Palmer Tomkinson was crowned the winner with phone votes raising a total of £795,000.
Comic Relief, which is held every two years, has been selling its much loved red noses over the past weeks in a bid to raise millions for good causes. The money collected in the run up to Red Nose Day is split with 60% to be spent in Africa and 40% in the UK.
The show began with the Sugababes and Girls Aloud performing their Comic Relief single, a version of Run DMC and Aerosmith's Walk This Way.
Celebrity presenters included Jonathan Ross, Russell Brand, Lenny Henry, Davina McCall, Graham Norton, Chris Evans, Paul O'Grady, Fearne Cotton and Kate Thornton.
