David Beckham’s son Romeo has secured his first professional football contract.

The famous offspring has signed his name to US team Fort Lauderdale who are a reserve team for Mr Beckham’s Inter Miami club.

Having followed in his dad’s footsteps, the 19-year-old was excited to update his fans about his new position.

He told his followers: “Follow your dreams.”

Alongside the three precious words, he shared a photograph of himself playing football.

His Instagram bio now reads “Footballer for @fortlauderdalecf”.

Many of his three million fans rushed to share their congratulations with the rising star.

But his mum Victoria Beckham remains one of his biggest supporters and she shared her love on his Instagram page.

She wrote: “We are so proud of you Romeo x.”

Earlier this year, Posh Spice hinted her son had set his heart on a footballing career.

The former singer revealed her second son had been training with Mr Beckham’s Inter Miami football club.

She told VOGUE: “Romeo has been training with the team over here every day, because ultimately that’s what he wants to do.”

Mr Beckham made history as a football player, having played for Manchester United as well as Real Madrid and England.

Now the retired player is the current co-owner of Inter Miami CF.

The Beckham family split their time between the UK and the US.
