Past and present Cabinet colleagues of Tony Blair have cast doubt on his relationship with US President George Bush.
And they claim the PM offered to stand down before the last election if Gordon Brown dropped his opposition to the UK joining the euro.
The comments come in a documentary Blair: The Inside Story, to be broadcast on BBC2 at 9pm on Tuesday.
Film-maker Michael Cockerell asks Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott what he thinks of President Bush and after a long pause, Mr Prescott replies: "Not a great deal."
Commons Leader Jack Straw says Mr Blair's refusal to condemn Israel for bombing Lebanon last July - widely seen as further support for Mr Bush's stance - was a "trigger" for eight resignations from Government which forced the Prime Minister to say he would quit by this autumn.
And ex-International Development Secretary - now an independent Labour MP - Clare Short says in the programme that in 2002 Mr Blair told her: "I really wish Gordon would let me join the euro. If he would, I would certainly. I don't want a third term, I would hand over to him."
Ms Short, who quit the Cabinet over the aftermath of the Iraq war, says: "I told Gordon and he said the message had been conveyed by two other people and you can't do policy like that - anyway there was no guarantee he would keep his word."
She also has a final dig at the premier, saying: "He's delusional. But you know this famous Tory Whips' saying: 'No one comes out of No 10 completely sane'."
Mr Straw, asked if Mr Blair's support for Israel over events in the Lebanon contributed to the "coup" last year which forced a statement from him announcing his intention to stand down, replies: "Yes it did, I mean it just did. It's a matter of historical record that it did. It triggered things."
