Surrey crash: female motorcyclist dies after being hit by car

A motorcyclist has died after being hit by a car as she travelled past a village in Surrey.

The woman, who was aged in her 50s, was knocked down by a black Hyundai I10 on Chertsey Road, close to the village of Ottershaw.

Paramedics were called to the accident next to the Otter Pub just after 4.20pm on Sunday.

They pronounced the victim, who had been riding a black Kawasaki motorcycle, dead at the scene minutes later.

Her next of kin have been informed of her death, a spokesman for Surrey Police said.

The car driver stopped at the scene and has not been arrested.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the crash.
