12 April 2012

A former nanny of ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell will appear in court accused of assaulting babies.

Jasmine Schmidt will attend Highbury Corner Magistrates Court next Tuesday charged with causing actual bodily harm to two two-month-old babies and a three-month-old baby.

The 31-year-old, of Hampstead, north-west London, was arrested in October last year on suspicion of assaulting a child.

Police sources confirmed she was a former nanny of Miss Halliwell.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Jasmine Schmidt, 31, of Hampstead, north-west London, a maternity nurse, will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged by the Metropolitan Police's child abuse investigation unit with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) against a two-month-old child, one count of causing actual bodily harm (ABH) against a two-month-old child and one count of causing ABH against a three-month-old child."
