New data reveals the UK’s favourite cake - and it’s not what you might think

Our batter half, our one and scone-ly, be still our beating tarts - the UK loves cake, and there's dough two ways about it.

The winner bakes it all in tonight's final of the Great British Bake Off, but in the meantime, Cath Kidston set about investigating one of the nation's biggest questions - which cake do we all like best?

According to their analysis of Google data, the answer might surprise you. A few traditional classics slipped down the list, while other lockdown favourites claimed the top spots.
