The addition of three completely new flatbreads to their menu has been revealed by Greggs.

The new Mexican Chicken Flatbread will be available in all Greggs from today, May 18. Then, starting on Thursday, May 25, certain stores will also sell the Vegan Tandoori Chicken-Free Flatbread and Chicken Shawarma Flatbread.

The most recent addition to Greggs’s well-liked vegan selection is the new Vegan Tandoori Chicken-Free Flatbread, which is perfect for people who want a plant-based lunch.

It features vegan tandoori chicken-free slices, cucumber, salad, and mango chutney, and is aimed at attracting meat lovers as well as vegetarians and vegans.

The fresh Flatbread with Chicken Shawarma is filled with shawarma-style chicken, sliced cucumber, and mixed salad, and is inspired by street food.

The snack is aimed at those who want a bit of spice at lunchtime, as it's made with Mexican-style chicken and chipotle chilli sauce, as well as fresh salad leaves, mixed peppers, and chipotle chilli mayonnaise.

All the flatbreads cost £3.25.

The new additions can also be ordered via Click + Collect through the Greggs App or website, and for delivery via Just Eat.

The bakery firm has been doing well with sales recently, as it has expanded its stores, opening 63 new shops, though it has closed 25 franchises over the past year, due to rising costs with inflation and the knock-on effect of the pandemic.

The Newcastle-based company also reports that hot cuisine products, like its chicken goujons and wedges, are in strong demand. With a 17 per cent growth in sales this year, it was found that its sales have increased by almost a fifth over the past 12 months.

Recently, the bakery business has ventured into other markets, with the introduction of its night-time pizza line and its expanding vegan offerings, like the vegan banger and new chicken-free bakes.
