He can paint, too: comic Harry Hill puts fellow stars in the frame for postcard portraits

Some of the comedian's artworks have been turned into postcards for a new Christmas store on the South Bank. Hill, 48, said he turns to his oil paints for late-night relaxation when he is busy writing shows such as TV Burp.

Fans can buy a box set of his paintings in postcard form at This Is Not A Pop Up at the Hayward Gallery as part of the Southbank Centre’s Winter Festival. They include portraits of celebrities including Phillip Schofield, Bruce Forsyth, the Duke and Duchess of York and Vanessa Feltz.

Hill said: “I’ve been doing the paintings for a long time. They’re probably an extension of my act — a slightly absurd way of looking at the world.”
