This unfortunate cow somehow managed to get a bike stuck on its head in Dorset this morning.

The unlucky animal was spotted with the bike over its neck in Brockenhurst by a passer-by.

Thankfully the beast was successfully freed from the contraption and did not suffer any injuries, witnesses said.

Johnny Weiler posted a picture of the bizarre scene on Twitter today.

He wrote: "Brockenhurst this morning - New Forest Cow and bike incident. She shook it off ok.

In another tweet, he added: "Not an everyday sight. New Forest Cow. It ended well for her."

It remained unclear how the accident happened or what the cow was trying to do when it got stuck.
