Hundreds of people have lined the streets to pay their respects as the bodies of four soldiers killed in three separate blasts in Afghanistan were brought back to the UK.
Lieutenant David Boyce, 25, from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, Lance Corporals Richard Scanlon, 31, from Rhymney, Gwent, and Peter Eustace, 25, from Liverpool, and Private Thomas Lake, 29, from Watford, were all killed by explosions in Helmand province earlier this month.
L/Cpl Eustace, of the 2nd Battalion The Rifles, died on November 16, Lt Boyce and L/Cpl Scanlon, both of the 1st The Queen's Dragoons Guards, died the following day of injuries and Pte Lake, of the 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales' Royal Regiment (1 PWRR) died on November 20.
The bodies of the four servicemen were flown to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.
A private ceremony was held for the mens' families at a purpose-built repatriation centre on the airbase before the cortege slowly made its way through the village of Carterton and onwards to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
The cortege was escorted at walking pace past Carterton's memorial garden where family, friends and locals had gathered and a Union flag was hung at half mast.
As the procession paused briefly, many in the crowd stepped forward to lay flowers on top on the hearses bearing the men's coffins, which were each draped in a Union flag. As the cars resumed their journey towards the hospital, the silence was broken by applause.
