Jo and Cleo evicted from CBB house

12 April 2012

Jo O'Meara and Cleo Rocos were the two celebrities evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house by the public.

Former S Club 7 singer Jo, who was involved in the race row which saw Jade Goody and her mother bullying Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, had been the favourite to be evicted. In a twist unknown to the housemates, actress and writer Cleo was also booted out.

Shilpa Shetty, Dirk Benedict and Ian Watkins - "H" from Steps - were saved from eviction.

The evicted pair emerged from the BB house to a mixture of boos and cheers after the result of the public vote was announced.

The eviction comes after Big Brother bosses were forced to apologise when a blunder meant they had to scrap eviction votes. Fans were offered refunds after the fiasco, which could have led to Shilpa being evicted by mistake. Words alongside her number wrongly stated viewers should ring it to save her, instead of boot her out.

Jo received 48.4% of viewers' votes, and Cleo 27.9%.

Asked if any extra security measures were in place tonight, a spokeswoman said security was always strong.

Before leaving the house, Jo expressed concern about screams from the crowd of "Get Jo out".

Beauty queen Danielle Lloyd sobbed as Jo and Cleo left.

After the vote, bookies put Shilpa as the odds on favourite to win the competition, with William Hill giving odds of 1/3 for the Bollywood queen and Ladbrokes offering 4/11. Former Jackson Five star Jermaine Jackson is second favourite.
