Kate Middleton agrees to sleep rough to highlight plight of homeless

The Duchess of Cambridge has expressed interest in following her husband and sleeping rough on the streets of London for a night.

Actress Lisa Maxwell of ITV’s Loose Women said she challenged Kate to follow William, who was inspired by his late mother Diana to highlight the plight of the homeless.

The Prince slept under Blackfriars bridge in 2009 to raise the profile of Centrepoint, of which he is patron like his mother before him. The homelessness charity holds an annual Sleep Out.

Maxwell said: “She asked about sleeping out, so I told her, ‘Next time I do it, you’re doing it with me. No excuses. He’s done it.’ She said, ‘You’re on’.”
