Emeli Sande’s ex-boyfriend has been stabbed to death after a party in east London.

The emergency services attended a venue at Chigwell Road, east London, after reports of a fight at the venue.

The victim has now been named as Lamar Jackson, 39, who went by the stage name of Hypo.

Mr Jackson dated the Scottish singer for a year in 2017 and released a video of himself driving to the party in Woodford Green, Redbridge on Thursday night.

Police have launched a murder investigation and have appealed for witnesses to the incident.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith said: “This man was attacked at a party and we know that a large number of people would have been in attendance.

“I would urge anyone who is yet to speak with us to come forward and let us know what you saw.

“It is possible that events leading up to the stabbing, and perhaps the murder itself, were captured on people’s phones.

“Please take a look and call us. It is vital that we establish what happened.”

Anyone with information can contact the police incident room on 020 8345 3985 or via 101 quoting reference CAD 66/03Jun or anonymously call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
