Police have confirmed they have made an arrest following the shooting of a man in Bristol.
The 23-year-old victim was gunned down in the St Paul's district of the city on Sunday morning and two people were also injured.
The shooting comes just days after two serious stabbings in the city - with a local councillor expressing concern about an escalation in violent crime.
But officers say they want to reassure residents they are doing everything to bring the person or persons responsible to justice.
Detective Superintendent Sue Scott, who is leading the investigation, said "Understandably some residents may feel concerned following this incident but I would like to reassure them that we have a specialist team concentrating solely on this investigation. We are dedicated to bringing the offender or offenders responsible for this young man's death to justice."
Officers were called to the scene of the incident, outside the Coach House pub in Stapleton Road, at around 4.10am.
A spokeswoman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary added: "A 23-year-old man died from his injuries and a 19-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man are also being treated in hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The fatality is not believed to be from the local area.
"A 23-year-old man has been arrested and is currently in custody helping police with their enquiries."
The road outside the pub remains closed in both directions between Warwick Road and Oxford Place.
Police said it was likely to remain shut into Monday morning because of the nature of the crime scene.
