Man dies in industrial incident at Suffolk port

The incident happened at the port of Felixstowe, Suffolk

A man has died following an industrial incident at a major port.

Suffolk Police said they were contacted just before 3pm by Port of Felixstowe police who said there had been an incident on the quayside and port paramedics were working to save a man.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Health and Safety Executive is working with Suffolk Police to investigate what happened.

The Port of Felixstowe is Britain's biggest and busiest container port, and one of the largest in Europe, according to its website.
