Man, 82, dies after being attacked by cows while walking with wife

A man in his 80s has died after being attacked by cows while on a walk with his wife, police said.

The couple were walking in Ivescar near Ingleton, north Yorkshire, when the attack happened on Saturday afternoon at around 1.45 pm.

The man, 82, was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, 78, was taken to hospital by air ambulance with bad bruising.

A police spokeswoman said: “An 82-year-old man, from Foulridge, Pendle, sadly died yesterday after being attacked by a herd of cows.”

She added: “Emergency services attended and sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The woman, aged 78, was badly bruised and taken to Royal Lancaster Infirmary by air ambulance."
