A presenter had an embarrassing slip on air when he accidentally substituted Jeremy Hunt’s surname for a swear word.

Reviewing the Saturday’s newspapers on Sky News, presenter Mark Longhurst referred to the Health Secretary as “Jeremy C***” - before swiftly correcting himself.

The gaffe was spotted by comedian and actor Ricky Gervais, who shared a Vine of the clip with his 10 million Twitter followers.

Apparently enjoying the slip, journalist Piers Morgan responded to Gervais to say: “He was right the first time”.

Mr Longhurst was referring to The Times’ front page story saying that non-British people are to be forced to pay for emergency healthcare under plans to be introduced by the government.

The Sky presenter is not the first to have difficulty with Mr Hunt’s name while on air.

Veteran BBC Radio 4 Today programme presenter Jim Naughtie made the same mistake in 2010.
