Police have put out an appeal to residents of Harlington in London to keep an eye out for a missing handbag belonging to suspected murder victim Pardeep Kaur.

They believe the bag may contain clues as to the circumstances of her murder.

Ms Kaur, a Heathrow hotel housekeeper, was found dead in an area of wasteland beneath the Hayes Flyover last week.

The 30-year-old was reported missing by a relative at 8pm on October 17 after she didn’t return from work.

CCTV had captured Ms Kaur walking down Harlington High Street, just north of Heathrow airport, at 4pm the previous day.

Police believe she may have been attacked by a stranger on her way to work.

Detective Inspector Jamie Stevenson said: "We have carried out extensive CCTV and house to house enquiries piecing together information about Pardeep's last known movements.

He added: "A key line of enquiry for this investigation continues to be that Pardeep was attacked by a stranger on her walk to work that morning, and sadly, was most likely murdered before she was reported missing.

"We have yet to find Pardeep's handbag - it was a black shoulder bag - and I would like hear from anyone who has found a discarded handbag matching that description abandoned in the street or in their garden.”
