Petra Ecclestone’s young children are following in her fashionable footsteps.

The daughter of Formula One billionaire Bernie Ecclestone and mother-of-four, 32, said her son James, six, often holds them up by trying to pick his outfit.

Speaking to the Standard, she said: “Yes, they like fashion. Especially one of the twins, James. He’s always playing with outfits and making us late deciding what to put on.”

Ecclestone has four children - daughter Lavinia Stunt, eight, twin boys James and Andrew, six, with ex-husband James Stunt. She and fiancé Sam Palmer have a baby daughter, born early last year.

She has just launched Luxe a Vendre — an online shop selling her second-hand clothing with prices ranging from £30 to £24,000.

Already the glamorous star plans to expand it to include items from her sister Tamara and even her father Bernie.

She said: “It has been on the cards since lockdown. People were all going through their old clothes as they were at home, and it was just a good thing to do for a good cause and it kept us busy."

The heiress admitted going through her clothes was “emotional and cathartic”. She said: “The handbags were the hardest. But I powered through.”

She added: “It is my ambition to open more centres across Britain and the USA to support young children and their families in having the very best chance to lead a normal life. In the fragile world in which we live I feel strongly that vintage fashion must prevail to lower production levels and support in protecting our planet. I wanted to help in my own small way.”

Ecclestone said she was surprised at how well the clothes were selling and how much interest there had been in the site. "I am surprised," she said, joking: "Everything else I do turns to s***"

She launched the business at the start of October with her fiancé Palmer.

A portion of revenue is donated to Ecclestone’s foundation Petra’s Place — a nursery and therapy centre for children with special needs and autism.
