A pit manager arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter after a mining tragedy in which four men died has been released.
Malcolm Fyfield, 55, was arrested as part of police inquiries into the Gleision Colliery accident, near Swansea, last month.
He had escaped the mine as floodwater engulfed a tunnel early on September 15, but was left in a critical condition in hospital.
David Powell, 50, Philip Hill, 44, Garry Jenkins, 39, and Charles Breslin, 62, were all killed in the underground disaster.
The pit manager was not named by South Wales Police following his arrest and questioning at Port Talbot police station on Tuesday.
Detective Chief Inspector Dorian Lloyd confirmed that a 55-year-old man had been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
He added that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the four deaths is "on-going".
