Record audience as Evening Standard online hits 100 million page views

The Evening Standard online has got the year off to a flying start with record-breaking audience numbers.

Our figures for January register multiple personal bests and smash through the 100 million monthly global page-view mark for the first time.

They are testimony to the quality of the journalism from our digital and print teams and show that the best of what the city has to offer is attracting bigger and bigger audiences online. Everything from breaking news, our sports and Brexit live blogs, to our comment section with the must-read leader columns are all becoming more and more popular in London, the rest of the UK and abroad.

Following the launch of Insider, our new luxury lifestyle platform with offices in New York and London, we’ve seen a huge pick-up in our North American audience.

In January the US accounted for about 15 per cent of our unique visitors.

“Standard.co.uk is a reflection of our city. We’re cosmopolitan, open-minded, opinionated and edgy. The level of audience interest is a sign that more and more people around the world are turning to us to get London’s take on things,” said David Tomchak, standard.co.uk’s digital editor-in-chief.
