A 15-year-old girl has died and her boyfriend is fighting for his life after the couple were hit by a bus in a busy city centre.
Schoolgirl Summer Lee Seymour and Jake Ford, 17, were struck just before 7pm by the vehicle on Haymarket, at the junction with Castle Street, in Sheffield on Friday.
Ms Seymour died from her injuries, with her boyfriend being rushed to hospital where he is said to remain in intensive care.
On Saturday a man who said he was his father paid tribute to Ms Seymour, who he described as a "beautiful young lady".
Scott Ford said: "I cannot describe the pain and hurt we are all suffering as we mourn the passing of a beautiful young lady at the start of her young life be safe on your journey beautiful angel RIP.
"My son is currently in intensive care with numerous injuries I am with him willing and praying. Counting his heartbeats and checking every bleep.
"I would swap places in a heartbeat for you my first born."
Bus operator First Bus said there were no passengers on board the bus at the time and the cause of the incident was unknown.
Managing Director of First South Yorkshire, Kevin Belfield, said: "My thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this tragic incident."
South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information about the tragic crash. A spokeswoman said the area would have been very busy at the time.
