Tributes were today paid to Harlequins and England rugby star Seb Adeniran-Olule who was killed in a motorway car smash.

The 20-year-old was died early on Monday after his vehicle collided with an HGV on the northbound carriageway of the M23, near Hooley village, in Surrey.

Tributes poured in on social media for the Under-20s international, who was a former student at the Whitgift school, in Croydon,

Lartey Laryea posted: “Bad boy on the pitch and a gentle giant off it. A smile that can light up a room...You will be missed Seb, may you rest in peace.”

Sam Phillips posted: “Seb was an absolute hero and a pleasure to play alongside for 7 years.

“He never forgot his roots, be it returning to Surrey and Epsom’s Summer Camp or signing hundreds of autographs for our community clubs.”

His family, from Thornton Heath, south London, were today too distraught to speak.

Quins director of rugby, Conor O’Shea, said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with Seb’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“He will be sorely missed by the whole squad as well as by the wider club.”
