Second youth remanded over murder

12 April 2012

A 17-year-old youth has appeared in court charged with the murder of young father Peter Woodhams, who was shot close to his east London home in August.

The unemployed teenager, from Canning Town, east London, was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey for a hearing on January 4.

Mr Woodhams, a 22-year-old satellite television engineer, was shot dead close to his home in Tallis Close on August 21, minutes after a confrontation with a group of youths outside a parade of shops.

The youth is the second person to be charged in connection with the murder.

On Tuesday, 18-year-old Bradley Tucker appeared at Barking Magistrates' Court charged with Mr Woodhams' murder.

Unemployed Tucker, from east London, faced charges of murder and possession of a firearm, an 8mm handgun, with intent to endanger life.

Tucker was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing on December 19.
