A teenager is facing a life term after being found guilty of murdering talented young footballer Kiyan Prince, 15.
The 17-year-old was named as Somalian refugee Hannad Hasan, who had been a pupil in the year above Kiyan at the London Academy in Edgware, north-west London.
Hasan, who had been excluded from school, stabbed Kiyan through the heart at the gates of the school.
There were cries from the public gallery as Kiyan's parents, former boxer Mark Prince and mother Tracy Cumberbatch, were supported by family and friends.
The court was adjourned as they were led from court in emotional scenes.
The family had to sit through three trials. The jury could not agree on the first and the second was abandoned after Mr Prince approached a woman juror.
Hasan, who lived with his mother in Colindale, north London, denied murder but admitted manslaughter.
The judge, who had removed an order banning identification of Hasan, adjourned the case for sentencing on July 27.
Outside court, Detective Chief Inspector Alistair Tully said: "The prosecution team felt that murder was the appropriate charge.
"The verdict should be a clear message to all those young men and women who choose to carry and use weapons of the consequences of their actions."
