Teenager shot in face is 'critical'

12 April 2012

A youth is critically ill in hospital after he was shot on Christmas Eve.

Police officers were called to the shooting in Garton Way, Wandsworth, in south London, shortly after 6pm on Monday.

The victim, believed to be 17, was taken to a south London hospital with a gunshot wound to his face. He remains in a critical but stable condition.

It is thought he was shot while he was sitting in a stationary car.

Two suspects, both described as black males wearing hooded tops, were seen running from the scene.

Armed officers immediately searched the area and the scene is being forensically examined, a police spokesman said.

No one has been arrested.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Trident Unit appealed to anyone with information to call 0208 733 4774 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
