RHS Photographer of the Year 2012 is Josie Elias, who wins £1,000 for her picture of spring bulbs under a spreading tree in the Gardens Through the Season category. The competition went digital for the first time this year, meaning entries could be uploaded via the sebsite, resulting in a record number. The various categories included Plant Portraits, Wildlife in the Garden and Children's Photographer, and the organisers received more than 8,000 photographs.
