Three killed as car and van collide

Three people have been killed after a car and a van were in collision.

The woman driving the car and two male passengers died in the crash on the A30 Great South West Road near Hatton Cross Underground station in west London just after 6am on Monday.

Police believe the car was attempting to turn in the road when it was hit by the van, whose driver escaped uninjured.

Another man travelling in the car was taken to hospital but he is not believed to be seriously injured.

No arrests have been made and the Metropolitan Police are appealing for any witnesses to call the road death investigation unit on 020 8941 9011.
