Three quizzed over murder

12 April 2012

Detectives are continuing to question three people about the death of a father-of-two.

Magistrates in Stoke-on-Trent have granted officers more time to question the men - aged 18, 19 and 20 - about the murder of Daron Hargreaves.

Ten men, aged between 16 and 22, and a 20-year-old woman were originally questioned about Mr Hargreaves' death, but eight have since been released on bail pending further inquiries, a spokesman for Staffordshire Police said.

Mr Hargreaves was found with severe head injuries in Chell Green Avenue, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, on Friday morning.

He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, but died shortly afterwards.

Mr Hargreaves lived with his fiancee and two sons, aged three and five, in the Pittshill area of the city.
