Two teenagers have been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a young television executive who was found dead in the boot of a burnt-out car, police said.

The body of Gagandip Singh, 21, was found after officers on patrol came across a blue Mercedes on fire in Angerstein Lane, Blackheath, south east London, at 2am on Saturday.

Harvinder Singh Shoker, 19, of Charlton Park Lane, Charlton, south east London, and Mundill Mahil, a 19-year-old woman, of Maidstone Road, Chatham, Kent, were remanded in custody at Greenwich Magistrates' Court.

They are due to appear at the Old Bailey on June 6 for a plea and case management hearing.

The body of Mr Singh, from Bexleyheath, an owner of new broadcaster Sikh TV, was discovered after police called the fire brigade to put out the blaze.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said another 19-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of Mr Singh's murder. He is in custody at a south London police station.
