Sophie Williams4 February 2019

Britain’s cold snap is set to come to an end and will be replaced by wind and rain, according to the Met Office.

Snow, ice and plunging temperatures caused treacherous conditions from Thursday into the weekend across vast swathes of the UK.

In Scotland, a yellow warning is in place for snow and ice from 9pm on Sunday until midday on Monday, with up to 6cm expected on higher ground.

However weather is expected to improve throughout the week.
