Wife remanded on murder charge

The wife of a man found dead in a river appeared in court charged with his murder.

The body of lorry driver Reginald Southall, 62, was discovered in the River Severn in Stourport, Worcestershire, on December 16 last year.

He had suffered multiple injuries to his head and body.

Muriel Southall, 59, of Stourport Caravan Park, appeared with Michael Whitcombe, 58, of Four Acres Caravan Park, Stourport, before magistrates in Kidderminster.

Both are charged with murder and perverting the course of justice.

The pair were remanded in custody to appear at Worcester Crown Court on April 24.
