Youth in court over caravan murder

12 April 2012

A teenager will appear in court on Saturday charged with the murder of a 15-year-old boy on a caravan site.

Michael Morgan was found unconscious in a mobile home at a council-run caravan park in Lancing, West Sussex, on July 1.

The teenager, from Shoreham, near Brighton, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics following the stabbing.

A 16-year-old boy was charged with Michael's murder yesterday and will appear before magistrates in Worthing.

An 18-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy who were also arrested have been released on police bail pending further inquiries, Sussex Police said.

Michael's mother, Helen Long, 35, said the death had "devastated" his brother Lewis, nine, and his sisters, Laura, 14, and 12-year-old Emma.
