Cincinnati Zoo has called has assigned Blakely the Australian shepherd is to be the companion for the Malayan tiger cubs after they were ignored by their mother.

The 6-year-old male dog provides snuggling, warmth and play for the cubs.

Dawn Strasser, head of the Cincinnati Zoo's nursery staff, says Blakely serves as "the adult in the room," teaching them behaviours such as checking them when they get too rough or aggressive.
