The family of an Afghan toddler named Donald Trump said their lives have been ruined by the backlash over his name.
The 18-month-old was born in 2016 while his billionaire businessman namesake was running for the US presidency.
His parents, Jamila and Sayed Assadullah, were reportedly admirers of the American’s successful career and hoped their boy could follow in his footsteps.
However, the use of a non-Muslim name has instead caused problems among their family in central Afghanistan.
Mr Assadullah told the New York Times that his father, who traditionally would have had the first say on the baby’s name, was furious at their decision.
He said: "They told me 'How you can select the name of an infidel for your son?'
"My father is an angry man.
"He told me that he could not tolerate the fact that I call my son Donald Trump.
"So I left and moved my family to Kabul."
Mr Assadullah said he also encountered problems at the government office for verifying IDs, where he was allegedly disrespected and threatened over the name.
He claims to have become a fan of the US President after watching him on television and reading his books during a college degree.
He said he never wanted his child's name to be made public and claimed a picture of the birth certificate was initially leaked on social media.
“Donald Trump has a lot of special qualities," Mr Assadullah told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
"He's very capable, he's serious, and he's a good politician and a good writer.”
