A British man has died after falling from his hotel balcony while on holiday with his girlfriend in Turkey.

The man, 22, is said to have fallen from the fifth floor of his hotel room in the popular tourist hotspot of Antalya while on holiday with his 33-year-old girlfriend.

Police and paramedics were called to the hotel in the district of Alanya, and the man was taken to hospital.

He later died of his injuries, according to MailOnline.

The man’s girlfriend is said to have been taken to a police station before later being released.

There are currently no further details from Turkish media regarding the incident.

A fundraiser has since been set up for the man’s family on GoFundMe which has raised more than £4,000.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who died in Turkey.”

The tragedy comes days after another British tourist died while on holiday in Turkey.

The 73-year-old man suffered a heart attack after jumping into the Red Sea while on a sightseeing boat trip, The Sun reported.

He had reportedly been with a group of friends in Marmaris when he went to cool off in the sea, where he suffered a cardiac arrest.

The man was declared dead by paramedics after a team of coastguards, police and divers pulled him onto the shore.
