Paris to London Megabus crashes in northern France leaving British woman fighting for life

A British woman has been left in a critical condition after a coach travelling from Paris to London crashed in northern France.

Nine people were injured when the Megabus coach swerved off the road on the A1 motorway on Thursday morning.

The coach was reportedly carrying 30 tourists – including British and French people – to London from the French capital.

Another passenger injured – believed to be French – is also seriously hurt.

A local authority spokesman in the Val d'Oise department told the MailOnline: “The British woman and a French passenger are in a state of absolute emergency, while seven others are slightly wounded.

“The remainder of those on board, including the driver, have been given food and shelter provided by the council.”

Police are investigating the crash but believe it could have been caused by a car swerving into the path of the coach.
