Clothing brand Universal Standard creates size 00-40 line to ensure everyone can wear the same outfits

A clothing brand has released a new collection that encompasses sizes 00 – 40 in a bid to ensure everyone can buy the same clothing.

Universal Standard announced that its new basics range ‘Foundation’ on Instagram and has received praise online.

Alexandra Waldman told Glamour: “We’re going 00 to 40 because we want to show the world that it’s possible to make beautiful clothes for everyone and it’s not just the privilege that single-digit-size girls get to have.”

The move has been praised on social media with people congratulating the brand its diversity.

One user wrote: “I see a woman who looks like me, my sister, my daughter, my mother, my best friend, my pharmacist, my Supreme Court Justice, maybe my future president.”

While Miss Bush said: “There’s so much diversity and I absolutely love it!”

Another user wrote: “Loving seeing clothes marketed to people like me modelled on people like me! Thank you Universal Standard for hopefully setting a standard!”

Universal Standard is planning to extend the sizing to all of its clothing in the future.

Ms Waldman promised customers: “This is the beginning of the entire collection’s moving to 00 through 40.”

Universal Standard was founded in 2015 and aims to create a more inclusive approach to fashion.

It has been responsible for helping brands such as J Crew expand its sizing.
