The body of a man has been found at Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny’s house in Egypt.

The Premier League star’s father discovered the body when he was staying in the villa in the city of Mahalla al-Kubra.

Italian newspaper the Gazetta reported the father of the player found the lifeless body on the patio of the home.

After the discovery, the incident was reported to the police who have since said the dead man had been attempting to steal cables, the BBC reported.

Police said it is believed he may have been electrocuted during the theft.

The football ace was informed of the death over the phone. He has recently returned to Arsenal after being on international duty with Egypt during the Africa Cup of Nations.

The house was a new property that had reportedly recently been handed over by the Elneny family to a charity to be used as an office.
